Sophie, de 32 años, decide someterse a una cirugía de reasignación de género. Luca, de 16, supo desde pequeño que era un chico nacido en el cuerpo de una chica. Y Nora, de 69 años, defiende los derechos de las personas trans.

Sophie, nacida en el cuerpo de un chico, se dio cuenta desde muy pequeña de que algo no iba bien. Durante la pubertad, sus problemas con su propia identidad volvieron a aumentar. Pero no fue hasta que se marchó de casa cuando decidió que quería vivir como Sophie en el futuro.

A mediados de sus 20 años, la joven mujer trans, que trabaja como cajera en un supermercado, comienza una terapia hormonal. A partir de entonces, su apariencia cambia constantemente: sus rasgos faciales y su estructura corporal se vuelven cada vez más femeninos. Sin embargo, Sophie no es feliz. Para ella, ser mujer implica una reasignación médica de sexo. A los 30 años, ha llegado el momento y puede someterse a la esperada operación en el Hospital Universitario de Essen.

La cirugía de reasignación de sexo está en auge desde hace años. En 2021, 2.598 personas se sometieron en Alemania a este tipo de procedimiento médico. Tras la operación, Sophie espera poder dejar atrás su propia identidad trans. "Para mí, la palabra 'transgénero' o 'transexual' ya no existirá".

Luca (16) ya sabía en la escuela primaria que era un chico, que había nacido en el cuerpo de una chica. Luca tiene muchas conversaciones con psicólogos - su familia apoya su nueva identidad. El joven recibe bloqueadores hormonales para evitar el inicio de la pubertad femenina. Para que su voz sea más grave y su cuerpo más masculino, tiene que aplicarse un gel de testosterona todos los días durante el resto de su vida. Cuando Luca sale del armario como trans, se da cuenta: "Ser trans no está realmente aceptado en la sociedad. A menudo te menosprecian por ello".

I'm very nervous and excited to be releasing my very first self-written and directed short film! Since you all loved my "break up with your boyfriend, i'm bored" video, I decided I'd do a sequel with the same actors and storyline, but in the form of a film instead! This follows the lives of the two girls in my music video, 2 years down the road, after Heidi (Jessica Danecker) finally breaks up with her boyfriend, Travis (Matias Lucas). She finally revisits her best friend, Maia (played by me) after 2 years of not speaking. This is how their story continues...
