El Ayuntamiento de Valencia ha vivido este viernes un bronco debate con motivo del Día Internacional del Orgullo durante el que la alcaldesa de la ciudad, María José Catalá, ha sido acusado de realizar unas declaraciones homófobas y el portavoz de Vox, Juan Manuel Badenas, que ha negado cualquier apoyo al colectivo LGTBI y ha dicho que su grupo solo apoya “unidades de convivencia naturales”.
Los dos grupos en la oposición en el Ayuntamiento de Valencia Compromís y PSPV han instalado delante de sus bancadas banderas arcoíris para visibilizar el día del Orgullo y mostrar su apoyo al colectivo durante el pleno celebrado este viernes. La acción ha provocado la queja inmediata del portavoz de Vox, que ha pedido la retirada de estas enseñas del hemiciclo. La alcaldesa ha consultado la petición con el secretario municipal y ha explicado que la exhibición de estos símbolos no contraviene ninguna normativa si están instaladas delante de las bancadas de los grupos.
